Welcome to our second Moons & Moods ritual - Waning Gibbous Banishing Spell
☾The Waning Gibbous moon is a time of banishing, releasing, untangling, letting go of things. This energy comes just after the Full Moon and is usually a time of reflection. We look at what the Full Moon illuminated for us personally in terms of emotional triggers.
You will need:
Cauldron or Fireproof pot
Mortar & Pestle
5 Black Peppercorns
Pinch of dried Rosemary
Pinch of dried Sage
Peppermint Oil
Garlic Bulb Skin
Black Candle
Black Pen
Paper
As the moon wanes add your peppercorns, rosemary, garlic skin and sage into the mortar & pestle, these ingredients all signify healing, protection, purification and cleansing. Start by grinding these ingredients in a clockwise direction before adding a few dashes of peppermint oil to the mix. Peppermint is good for new beginnings and renewal.
Once everything is ground to a nice powder, set your mortar & pestle aside and light your black candle. Whilst the flame burns and the wax starts to melt, you take your piece of paper and with your black pen write down all of the things you want to banish from your life.
Then sprinkle your powder onto the paper and fold it in half so the powder sits inside
Your candle should have created enough wax now, so you now take the candle and pour the wax over your paper, sealing the powder inside it. Be careful not to burn yourself with hot wax during this section.
Once the wax has dried you pick up your sealed paper and hold it over the flame of the black candle, thinking about the things you want to banish as the paper burns. Drop the burning paper into your cauldron or fireproof pot.
When the ash is leftover from your paper, make sure you dispose of the remnants away from your house. Or if you can't get away you can always flush them down the toilet. :)
